My Pick for the Best Dressed on the Red Carpet at Grammys 2012

In the wake of a very sad loss to the music industry, with the passing of Whitney Houston, The Grammy 2012 ceremony was a mixture of celebration, mourning & I am sure, a lot of self-reflection. So many hugely talented artists have thrown their lives & careers away because of addiction & substance abuse. In the end it comes down to the individual, not the stage persona we all loved & admired. The individual person. Their struggles, hard-ships, emotional needs and lack of true understanding from their family and friends. For who can truly understand the pressure of having to constantly live up to the name of ‘Elvis’, ‘Michael Jackson’ or ‘Whitney Houston’. In the end, they are all just human, like each one of us. With the same fears, needs and emotional baggage. I truly think its time for the music industry to form a support structure for these stars. They are, after all, part of THEIR community and no matter how much we might love and idolize them, only their peers will ever understand what it means to deal with the pressures of being a multi-million-dollar superstar.

But, now that I got that off of my chest, here are my top 5 best dressed ladies on this year’s Grammy Red Carpet!
I am in LOVE with Katy Perry’s look!! All I will say is, Russell Brand, BURN!!

Rihanna looks absolutely smoldering, as usual, in simple, but striking, black. Kelly Osborne looks absolutely luminous in her metallic gown & lavender hair combo.

Adele, sweeping up most of the awards on the night, is a true classic beauty. Looking better than ever!

Snaps to Taylor Swift for her courage fashion effort, futuristic, metallic and oh so glam! She is growing up to be a style-icon-to-watch!
